A Summary of Our History

1857 H.E. Eves and A.R. Palmer practised in partnership as Eves and Palmer at 7 Charles Square.

1897 Eves and Palmer had dissolved the partnership and A.R. Palmer was practising at 18 Charles Square. A.E. Robinson was admitted as Solicitor, having been articled to Palmer.

1900 A.R. Palmer and A.E. Robinson practised as Palmer & Robinson at 16 Charles Square. Palmer subsequentlyretired and Robinson continued as Palmer & Robinson.

1916 V.J. Samuels joined the firm as a Clerk aged 16 and served in HM Forces from 1918 to 1920 and returned to the firm upon demobilisation.

1923 V.J. Samuels articled to A.E. Robinson and admitted in June 1928 and continued as a salaried partner in the firm of Palmer & Robinson.

1945 A.E. Robinson died and V.J. Samuels continued the practice under the name of Palmer & Robinson at 18 and 19 Charles Square and subsequently at Shoreditch High Street.

1953 D.R. Joslin became partner with V.J. Samuels in business of Palmer & Robinson at 178 Shoreditch High Street.

1965 The firm moved to 30/31 Shoreditch High Street.

1966 V.J. Samuels retired as active partner.

1967 D.R. Joslin and D.A. Davies became partners.

1973 Firm moved to 450 Hackney Road.   Name of Equity House was suggested by D.A. Davies.

1974 D.R. Joslin and D.A. Davies became partners with F.F. Stunt in Palmer & Robinson and Stunt & Son.

1977 F.F. Stunt died.

1980 Names of Palmer & Robinson and Stunt & Son amalgamated and Stunt Palmer & Robinson formed.

1998 D.A. Davies died.

1999 S.E. Marley became principal and D.R. Joslin became Consultant.

2004 S.E. Marley and M. Petrou became partners.

2007 M. Petrou left in 2007 and J. Bakrania became a partner.
